Hearing Test

A Hearing Test is the first step in understanding the levels of your hearing loss and type. It is a non invasive procedure and many clients find it interesting.

It’s a good idea to bring someone with you as it helps to be able to discuss the results afterwards.

PURE TONE AUDIOMETRY

Measures your hearing levels across a range of frequencies and helps us determine the degree of hearing loss you have, the hearing test is performed in a soundproof booth. The hearing test will take approximately 60 minutes and we will explain all the results to you and answer any questions.

The cost of a hearing assessment is £50 and if you proceed with hearing aids, this fee is deducted from the cost of the aid.

TYMPANOMETRY

This test demonstrates how well your eardrum moves and can help us determine the cause of hearing loss.

Online Hearing Test

This test requires headphones and only takes about 3 minutes to complete. While it does not replace a professional hearing test performed in a sound proof booth by an audiologist, it can provide some quick and useful feedback about your hearing.

Once you have completed the test you will be given the option to request an appointment with our audiologist, Jayne Bryce, who will examine your ears, perform an accurate hearing test in our sound-proof booth and explain the results.

  Went for an earwax removal this morning. I was firstly warmly welcomed into the comfortable waiting area where I also had the privilege of meeting bear the dog! It wasn’t long at all until I was seen, and the man who did the removal could not have been friendlier, more helpful or more reassuring. I was spoken through every step of the process (which in total took a maximum of ten minutes!!) and all of my questions were answered with the upmost professionalism. My wax proved slightly ‘sticky’ so water irrigation was opted for, and the relief I felt when my ears became functional again was second to none! Thank you all so much. Cannot recommend enough.

  Our 15 year old autistic son had concerns with the hearing in his right ear, and it was causing him anxiety and preventing him from concentrating on his studies. We struggled to find somewhere that would conduct a hearing test due to his age until we came across Bryce Hearing. They saw him within 24 hours, treated him with respect, clearly explained what was happening throughout and put his mind at ease. He left knowing that his hearing was fine and that the issue was likely a residual effect of a cold from a number of weeks previously. We could not have been happier with the service we received and would highly recommend Bryce Hearing to anybody who has hearing related concerns, especially for those with children or young adults who may not be served by major high street companies.

  I have recently been trialing new hearing aids and naturally there have been a few hiccups along the way, but Jayne was sp patient and professional.
