Bryce Hearing Services was my reason for a trip into the city centre this one day.

At the beginning of this year I had a very bad virus which left my hearing slightly damaged, but worse still in fact, life changing, it caused balance problems due to damage to one ear and I also now have Tinnitus. For anyone who doesn’t know what this is, it’s sounds you hear internally which cannot be controlled. The Tinnitus was leaving me very stressed, I couldn’t hear or concentrate to watch TV, I couldn’t concentrate when trying to read which I loved, even worse still I couldn’t get to sleep many nights due to the high pitched noises and when I did eventually fall asleep I often woke up after a couple of hours to not get back to sleep sometimes for the rest of the night. I was surviving but only just on a few hours sleep, I was fast becoming a stressed, distressed wreck.

I was waiting months for appointments with NHS clinics which were good and through no fault of theirs the waiting times were lengthy. We had come across Bryce Hearing Services while researching for aids to help me get some sleep as I battled with tinnitus.

I phoned and got an appointment very soon and along I went with my husband for a first hearing test and consultation. Jayne Bryce was the first person I had spoken to who really seemed to understand how distressing Tinnitus was for a person. I had a thorough hearing test which showed the hearing wasn’t as bad but was made worse by the constant Tinnitus. After a long chat many questions asked and answered I walked out of their premises wearing my wonderful free trial hearing aid, specially designed for Tinnitus sufferers. Two weeks later I purchased the same aid in the colour of my choice.

This tiny little hearing aid restored my life to almost normal within a week. Don’t get me wrong I still have tinnitus and probably always will but now I can cope with it. When the sounds I hear are loud and intrusive and I’m trying to read I have a small remote control which turns on a soft soothing Zen music which helps to distract from the horrible high pitched constant ringing.

I can now hear and concentrate on the TV, I’m much more relaxed so I’m sleeping better, if the tinnitus is really bad I can pop in my hearing aid with the Zen music on and fall asleep wearing it.

I have a lot to thank Widex for, which was the company who designed this clever hearing aid and Jayne at Bryce Hearing Services who was the one person who really appreciated how horrible and stressful a condition tinnitus is and the sooner relief can be found the better and easier it is to break the traumatic stressful cycle it seems to cause.

If you are suffering from hearing difficulties and or tinnitus this company can and will help you in a very speedy manor. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Jayne at Bryce Hearing Services.
